Eye Exams & Your Health
Eye exams are an essential part of overall healthcare. Not only are they a chance for us to diagnose eye problems and identify needed vision correction, but they also provide early detection of other health problems.
The Canadian Association of Optometrists suggests adults come in for an eye exam every two years. Adults over 65 should have their eyes examined yearly. We may ask to see you a bit more frequently, depending on what your eyes need.
Visit one of our eye clinic in Abbotsford and Chilliwack for your next comprehensive eye examination.
Discovering Your Total Vision Health
Dr. Laudadio and Dr. Clark are committed to supporting your whole health, starting with your eye exam. An eye exam is, of course, key for ensuring your prescription is up to date to support your eyesight at work and when you’re spending time with your family.
Beyond that, an eye exam is the only way to detect some eye diseases before symptoms start, and it can even find systemic health concerns early, including diabetes, high blood pressure, or tumours.
And your eye exam is a great time to ask us about gritty, uncomfortable eyes that could be a sign of dry eye disease or digital eye strain, both of which we can create a custom treatment plan for.
Types of Eye Tests During Your Eye Exam
During your eye exam, your vision is assessed with tests that may include:
- Visual acuity test
- Retinal imaging
- Visual field testing
- Intraocular pressure testing
- Pupil dilation (for health evaluation of the inner structures of the eyes)
Our compassionate team will carry out your exam efficiently and effectively. Please plan for roughly an hour for your visit.
Eye Care From Start to Finish
From the moment you walk into our eye clinic, through your exam, and into picking your eyeglass frames, serving you comes first.
Please let us know if you have questions or want clarification. We’re dedicated to your comfort and understanding. Book your appointment today.
